The day dawned with the weather fishing people yearn for: partly cloudy with just a little wind, not too cold and definitely not hot. It was a great day for fishing.
A group from the Robson Ranch Fishing Club made the two-hour drive over to Quitman, Texas to Lake Fork. This lake is known for its bass fishing. It is a catch and release only lake, but what these guys wanted to do was catch fish. Dick Dauphinais, Bob Leenhouts, Greg Olson, Norman Cyr and Carl Caruso of Robson Ranch made the trek to determine what type of fish they could find at this lake. The others outside of Robson Ranch were Jacob (Bob’s grandson who caught the largest fish at 5 pounds 8 ounces), Tom Dorsett (from Wichita Falls), Ken Bateman (extended family member of Dick Dauphinais).
The connection guide was Rick Carter [email protected], 903-850-4007 cell, a good organizer.
Norman and Tom caught the most fish with 61 with a mixture of sand bass, black bass and small mouth bass. Jacob caught the biggest fish so this took care of the pools for the most and biggest.
The Robson Ranch Fishing Club has its meetings the second Wednesday of the month at the Wildhorse Grill at 5:30 p.m. If you would like more information please send an email to [email protected].
Fishing is not a matter of life or death; it is much more important than that!
