The Drone Club meets the fourth Monday evening of each month from 7 to 8 p.m., in Room 104 at the Creative Arts Technology Center. We have no dues, and attendance is open for any Robson resident who is interested in anything that is drone related, regardless of what they own or understand but have a desire to learn more about. As an enhancement to our Drone Club members, we are now offering a presenter video recording that can be accessed through membership in Groups.io (formerly known as Yahoo Groups) at rrtxtech.groups.io/g/main and on our new website, robsontech.club/tag/drone.
Our Sept. 26 meeting was hosted by Steve Simpson (club officer). This meeting was our First Annual Robson Resident “Fly-In” with Image Capture Contest.
We had a good attendance, with many attendees supplying their personal drone and assigned an area via a Robson Ranch map from Dennis Brooks (club VP) to capture images for a contest. These drone pilots then returned to Room 104, and they were able to see all their images on the Smart Board with selection of their two best. The Images were then provided to a Robson Ranch Photo Club member for judging and selection of top three overall and presented at our Oct. 24 general session meeting.
At our Nov. 28 general session starting at 7 p.m. in Room 104, we have a commercial business pilot coming in to talk to us about how he got started and what he is doing currently in the industry. We hope to see everyone then.
