Candidate Kelvin Leaphart is running for Texas’ 26th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives. Michael Burgess has held that seat for 22 years. Mr. Leaphart believes it is time for a change in representation. He states he is fighting for a political system that serves the interests of hard-working, everyday Americans rather than the rich, powerful, and well-connected.

Leaphart is married and the father of two sons. He was a civil affairs specialist in the U.S. Army Reserves and currently works in higher education as a Director of Financial Aid. Kelvin has always had a passion for public service.

Leaphart wants to reform campaign financing and will not take PAC money. Other legislative priorities for his campaign are responsible government spending, universal healthcare, free and fair elections, criminal justice reform, and college for all.
