We can do amazing things when we all work together, and that has certainly been the result of the coordinated effort to turn the Ranch Pink to raise money for the local charity, Women Rock, Inc. In an effort coordinated by a committee from the Wildhorse Lady Niners, the latest groups to pitch in for the cause include the Casita Boys band, Robson Ranch Pickleball, and a night out at Chicken N Pickle in Grapevine.
Despite scorching hot temperatures, residents who came out for the Saturday concert on the patio had a cool time listening to band members Keenan Wallace on bass, Jerry Hinson on drums, Mark Skinner on lead guitar, Craig Milacek on keyboard, and Phil Rogers doing the vocals. As a special treat, resident Michele Brandt came up and sang a few songs with the band.
“Dink for Pink” was the shootout put on by the Pickleball Club. Full courts and lots of laughs led to a successful fundraiser. Carrie Summers and Joe Lucido won Jessie Irvine paddles, Teresa Boyd won a signed Riley Newman pickleball, and Bryce Treese won a signed Riley Newman water bottle.
The third event for the month was a give back night at Chicken N Pickle. Proceeds of the day’s profits are being donated to Women Rock, Inc. Good food, good fun, and good company—what more could we ask for?
Coming up next to support Women Rock, Inc.: Pink Fling—Big Swing Band on Sept. 12, Softball Derby on Sept. 23, WLN/WGA Unmask Cancer golf tournament on Oct. 11, and Studs and Diamonds Country Concert on Oct. 21.
