Boomers Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day

Winners of the Pot of Gold Pong game

Susan Parker

It is hard to find any group that can celebrate St. Paddy’s Day better than the Robson Ranch Baby Boomers! Under the leadership of Chief Boomer Carol Jankowski, the Robson Ranch Boomers filled the clubhouse ballroom for a gigantic, green celebration. Boomers dressed in their best green St. Paddy’s Day attire and filled the tables. Volunteer planning and execution leads for the event were Susan Joyce, Cindy Brekke, and Bonnie Busboom. These volunteers deserve credit for an over-the-top green celebration! Susan created a game that pitted table versus table in bouncing a ping pong ball into “the pot of gold.” Based on the skill displayed, I am sure several played a little beer pong in their day. Cindy passed out a sheet of paper filled with questions, and participants had to find other Boomers who were answers to the questions. Carol ordered an Irish St Paddy’s Day background for all Boomers to take pictures in front of.

No St. Paddy’s Day celebration is complete without the bar stocking Guinness beer, Jameson Irish Whiskey, house green margaritas, and draft green beer! And, of course, the food for the evening had to be bangers and mash with Irish soda bread. Music for the evening was a video of the famous Irish band Gaelic Storm. It was a Booming good time, as usual.

Be on the lookout for the next event, a Kentucky Derby Horse Race in the ballroom, with food and fun!
