Rock & Roll Martini Group Rocks The Beach Boys

Dave Parker

The Rock & Roll Martini Group is so popular that even Mother Nature decided to schedule the eclipse before the April party! Not only did Mother Nature schedule an event, but the NCAA men’s final game was also scheduled to coincide with the party!

The house band (host) for the event was Connie and Greg Metzler. Connie and Greg selected The Beach Boys as the featured artist for the evening. The Beach Boys are one of the most influential acts of the rock era. They drew on music of older pop vocal groups, 1950s rock & roll, and black R&B to create their unique sound. Connie and Greg rolled out rock & roll ham sandwiches, and the Rockers (members) and guests filled in with appetizers and desserts. The martinis for the evening were Wisconsin Old Fashioned and Lavender Martini. Avid cruisers Connie and Greg found that the Lavender Martini was one of the most popular martinis on cruise ships. Connie and Greg also coordinated a Texas Toss tournament as others watched from the patio on a perfect evening. It was also a special event, as Rock & Roll Martini Group Hall of Fame members Deets and Julie Stewart were able to attend the blowout event.

No martini glasses or screen doors were damaged during the party. Until next month, Rock On!
