The Kiwanis Club of Robson Ranch recently provided a donation to the Community Clothes Closet (CCC) in Justin. Kiwanis Club President Barbara Leurig presented the check to Robson Ranch resident Linda Smith.

Joanna Johnson and Gwen St. Clair founded the CCC in 2012 and invited Linda Smith and her husband to join the new board of directors. The CCC is a Christian-based, charitable outreach that provides free clothing to our communities. CCC coordinates with local agencies, churches, elderly and homeless service providers, and community groups to identify people needing assistance and invites them to visit their facility in Justin.

Since its inception, the center has grown to serve 91 counties in the area, providing free clothes to those in need. The demand for the services has been overwhelming, with up to 3,000 clothing items being distributed on a typical shopping day. To manage this, clients are requested to schedule appointments. This growth underscores the crucial role of our volunteers and the importance of your continued support.

The Community Clothes Closet is an all-volunteer, charitable organization that relies on volunteers and the generous financial support of organizations, businesses, and individuals in our communities. Donations of time, money, and clothing are greatly appreciated. Robson Ranch residents have been wonderful supporters with donations of clothing.

The most significant fundraising event is the annual Purse Auction. The funds raised from this event are crucial for our Back to School Bash where we provide free new socks, underwear, and tennis shoes to every school-age child from families who visit the CCC. Last year we needed a budget of $20,000, and this year the need is even greater. Your participation in the Purse Auction can make a significant difference in the lives of these children.

The CCC is located at 117 W. 6th Street in Justin, behind the post office, and there is a big blue donation box. Donations may also be left on Linda Smith’s front porch at 10509 Belvedere Drive.

For several years, the Kiwanis have held very successful kids clothing drives so that the children have nice clothes at the beginning of the school year. Having nice school clothes really helps to prevent bullying of the less fortunate.
