On Sept. 14 the Happy Tails Dog Club welcomed members of the Happy Dance Dog Rescue, a foster-based rescue group from Lewisville. Happy Dance Dog Rescue focuses on saving dogs from local shelters, covering their medical expenses, and providing foster care until permanent homes are found. The group also works with shelters to rescue large dogs and arranges transport to rescue groups in the Northwest that need dogs. Additionally, they support shelters in El Salvador with dog food and medical supplies.
Happy Dance Dog Rescue is currently seeking volunteers to help foster dogs. Anyone interested can contact the organization to get involved.
The Happy Tails Dog Club will hold its annual Holiday Pet Photo sessions on Saturday, Nov. 2. This is the club’s largest fundraiser of the year. The backdrop for this year’s photos features a rustic barn door holiday scene. Pet owners can bring props or decorations for a festive touch, making it a fun and memorable experience for both pets and their families. Proceeds from the event will go toward supporting the club’s activities.
The club’s annual holiday party is set for Dec. 14. Plans include a potluck and gift exchange, with more details to come. This event is a great chance for members to catch up with friends and celebrate the season together.
Due to scheduling conflicts, Dr. Blake Rochell, a veterinarian from Northlake Pet Hospital, will be speaking to the club in January of 2025 instead of October. Dr. Rochell, who has a background in mixed animal veterinary practices, is open to suggestions for discussion topics. Members are encouraged to send their ideas to Donna at [email protected].
The Happy Tails Dog Club meets on the second Saturday of each month at 10:30 a.m. in Room 103 of the CATC building. Membership is open to anyone with a dog, and dues are $10 per household per year. More information can be found on the club’s website rrhappytailsdogclub.weebly.com.
