Living Well Committee

The long, hot summer has finally left us! Labor Day arrived with cooler temperatures just in time for the morning walk, which included approximately 65 residents joining members of the Living Well Committee for the three-mile walk. The committee wants to extend a thank you to all the walk participants and the Robson Ranch Patrol members who assisted with keeping everyone safe. And thanks also to our HOA that provided the refreshments at the end of the walk.

The Sept. 12 presentation titled “Microgreens: The Original Superfood,” given by Christa and April Zuniga, was a huge success. If you missed it, you can watch the video of the presentation on our website rrlwc.weebly.com.

On Oct. 17 the Living Well Committee will be presenting an informative speaker about Medicare. Whether you are new to Medicare, thinking about changing your coverage, or just want updated information, this presentation is for you! Make plans to attend, and come early, as seats can fill quickly.

Please join us in thanking our Farmers Market vendors for coping with the ridiculously hot summer! Their kindness and loyalty to Robson Ranch and the residents is admirable. The days are cooling now, so get out early on Friday mornings, meet all the vendors, and shop! Shopping in your own backyard—it can’t get any better than that!

Events for the Robson Ranch Olympics began on Oct. 1 with the month-long events of walking, running, hiking, laps in the pool, taking exercise classes, etc. Each week throughout the month, various single-day events will be taking place, starting with a two-person scramble golf event on Oct. 14. Following that event will be Texas toss and table tennis on Oct. 19. More great events continue each week, and the full schedule of events can be found on our website rrlwc.weebly.com. The Olympics culminate with several events scheduled for Nov. 2, which is then followed by the awards luncheon in the clubhouse at noon. Come out and cheer on your neighbors and friends as they compete for prizes!

Looking ahead, on Nov. 28, Thanksgiving Day, we’ll have our annual Turkey Trot. We look forward to having you, your guests, and your pets join us for our usual walk led by Gil Clifton and Fred van Naerssen. It’s lots of fun and a great way to work up an appetite for your turkey dinner and all the trimmings.
