Republican Club Working Hard Before Election

Tim McCormick, President

Everyone needs to vote in this election!

It’s no secret that our community is heavily Republican, and it’s probably no surprise that we’re one of the larger clubs on the Ranch. No doubt you’ve heard there are even more clubs sprouting up with some similar goals. So, what is the Republican Club doing for this election?

A lot! The Republican Club has had an incredible year. Our club now has people involved in almost anything you can think of that is Republican, and probably some you wouldn’t.

We have people to help with voter registration, phone calling and block walking outside the Ranch, and distributing yard signs. We have a committee on legislative issues that meets with our state rep. and senator, and also other representatives. They also are following local races and issues and reporting back to our members!

We educate our membership on the many aspects of politics in Texas. Since we have many residents here from out of state, this has been incredibly helpful to them. We’re even helping the young ladies at TWU get their Republican Club up and running!

But for this election, we have our most ambitious goal yet—95% voter turnout! In the last Presidential election, Robson had about 85% turnout, while Texas had about 67%. In the last Gubernatorial election, Robson had about 82% turnout, and Texas had 48%. This being a Presidential election, and with our club working hard to get people to vote, we are shooting for that 95% turnout which, though ambitious, is something we can do out here at the Ranch.

As I said at the beginning, this year, everyone needs to vote! The Democrats have been making gains in our county and in our community. I won’t presume to tell you how to vote, but clearly this is a landmark election, and if you don’t vote, you have made yourself voiceless! Please take the little effort it requires to go to the clubhouse and vote! We’ve made it easy! Members of our club made certain we got a voting center out here years ago, and we continue to make certain we retain that. You don’t even have to leave the Ranch! Early voting starts Oct. 21 and goes through Nov. 1, with Election Day being Nov. 5. I encourage you to vote early so you have it out of the way. Just make sure to vote!

We are offering rides to the clubhouse if you need help getting to the polls. Just contact us at our website, listed below.

And as much as I’ve just listed, I’m only scratching the surface. We bring the fun back into politics. Of course, there are many important issues and problems—in fact, that’s a major reason most of us join the club, to fix those—but we also know we go on in life and love being with our neighbors!

If you’d like to join us, go to www.RRRepublicanClub.com, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click the “Join the Club” button. We’d love to have you with us!
