It’s that time of year again! The annual enrollment period for Medicare is Oct. 15 through Dec. 7. Your Living Well Committee invited Dan Ballenger, an independent senior insurance specialist, to speak during the October Speaker Series meeting so he could update all of us on what’s new and what’s changing in the world of Medicare for 2025. We always have a great turnout for Dan’s presentation, so this year he graciously agreed to hold two sessions back-to-back. We hope you were able to attend. If not, the most important takeaway for 2025 changes is that there will now be a maximum out-of-pocket cost of $2,000 for covered drugs. In addition to that bombshell news, Dan recommended researching your individual drugs, pharmacy, and doctors within your plan to determine if any changes have occurred with your coverage. He said it is important to look beyond the cost of your premium to make the best-informed choice in the coverage options.

By the time you receive this edition of the Pioneer Press, the 2024 Robson Ranch Olympics will have wrapped up with the closing event of the awards luncheon. Thank you to all those residents who participated. We hope you had lots of fun! Look for information on winners of the various events in the December issue of the paper.

Looking ahead, on Nov. 28, Thanksgiving Day, we’ll have our annual Turkey Trot. We look forward to having you, your guests, and your pets join us for our usual walk led by Gil Clifton and Fred VanNaersen. It’s lots of fun and a great way to work up an appetite for your turkey dinner and all the trimmings.
