Robson Ranch Republican Club News

The November meeting of the Robson Ranch Republican Club began with a quick business meeting prior to the usual start of the evening program. The main program honored all veterans just before Veterans Day, whether or not they had any association with the Republican Club or Republican Party. We considered it our privilege to distinguish these fine men and women who, in many cases, put their lives on the line for our country. The Republican Club wanted to show them our gratitude through events such as this.

In the spotlight were men and women from all ages and all branches of the service, and all were asked to come forward one by one to be honored. Close to 40 veterans and elected officials were recognized at the event. There were veterans from World War II , Vietnam, Korea, and more, and all were duly recognized for their sacrifices made to keep our country and the world free from the threat of tyranny. The atmosphere was jubilant with applause as each honoree came forward to receive the challenge coin that our Senator Tan Parker sponsored. These honorees inspired everyone, making us feel grateful, yet humbled, in giving them, for at least one night, the attention they so richly deserve.

Many, by their words, thanked us, and while duly proud of their own contribution, did so with grace and humility. This was a great and meaningful show of respect to those we don’t always remember in our prayers. Each person attending the meeting was presented with an American flag. It is a great time to be an American.

Jan. 20, 2025, is the Robson Ranch Republican Club Inauguration Ball! That’s right, we are going to celebrate the inauguration of President Trump as the 47th President of the United States. While President Trump is celebrating the evening at the different balls in D.C., we are going to host our own ball at the clubhouse here at Robson Ranch!

This will be a semi-formal event. Ladies, feel free to pull out an old ball gown or help stimulate the economy and update your wardrobe with a new one! Gentlemen, feel free to wear a tuxedo or, since we are in Texas, get your best jeans, boots, and dress jacket for the dance. We will have the Robson Ranch Big Swingin’ Band providing a mix of traditional big band music along with quite a few more modern songs, all selected for being good to dance to. There will be hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. The event will start at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. The band will finish playing at 9 p.m. Contact Laurie Wiginton at 972-742-0801 for ticket availability.
