Veterans Day Ceremony: The Veterans Day ceremony at the Robson Ranch Veterans Park will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, and will last about 30 minutes. Veterans honored on bricks and benches donated during the fall Brick Drive will be recognized at the ceremony.
Silent Auction: The annual Support Our Troops Silent Auction will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on November 11, 2015. The auction is the SOT major fundraising event for our giving budget. Auction item categories include art, arts and crafts, auto, Christmas cards and holiday items, dining and entertainment gift cards, games and hobby, gift items and cards, health, home décor, personal care, pet services and sports and outdoors. The 2014 auction included over 400 donations valued at $52,000.
Donations forms are located in the clubhouse kiosk near the HOA desk. You can donate quality handmade goods or services of your own; purchased quality goods, gift certificates and cards, gift baskets, or services to donate to the auction; donate cash; or any combination of these. We accept heirlooms. However, we cannot accept items that are missing parts or broken or require repair.
SOT volunteers will staff an auction table in the clubhouse from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday from October 12 to November 6. You can pick up donation forms, drop off your donations and purchase 50/50 raffle tickets at the table. Last year’s raffle winner received $1,570.
‘Support Our Troops Inc. of Denton, Texas is a public charity exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, allowing you to deduct the value of your donation on your personal or business tax return. All donors will have their business or personal names placed on the Support Our Troops web page after the donation is received, and they will remain on the web page until the 2016 auction drive begins. We will also provide an embedded link to your business website if you wish.
