Let’s Be Friends!

FOL celebrates Robson Ranch Library volunteers with a fun-filled brunch and gifts.

You might be surprised to learn that the Robson Ranch Library has roughly 1,500 resident patrons. Some years ago, Friends of the Library (FOL) was created to support our community library. Many people assume that, as a library patron, they are also a member of FOL. However, FOL is a club that requires a separate sign-up and annual renewal.

Dues are just $10 and go toward the purchase of books, subscriptions, supplies, and equipment. FOL purchases dozens of new books a year. FOL also supports our wonderful volunteers with recognition events and sponsors book talks and other events, such as Robson author forums and last year’s fan-favorite Halloween party, open to all Robson residents.

FOL membership renewal is coming up soon. You can drop off your new or renewal membership application and dues in the library, or join/renew online at www.rrtxfol.org/pay.

Membership is from July 1 through June 30 of the following year. Dues paid after May 1 are credited toward the next membership year. Please consider joining or renewing your membership today. We can never have enough Friends!

Volunteer Brunch sponsored by FOL

For National Volunteer Month in April, FOL sponsored a brunch for library volunteers. More than 50 volunteers gathered for a yummy breakfast and fun entertainment based on volunteers’ hometowns and their answers to questions about books that inspired them or that they would choose to take to a deserted island. Responses were fun and illuminating!

All volunteers received a clip-on book light with the Robson Ranch Library logo. The library is open 60-plus hours a week, which equates to about 3,120 volunteer hours per year. For information on volunteering, visit the library or www.rrtxfol.org/volunteer.

Hold your book club meetings in the library!

What better place to host your book club than at the library? One club has already hosted several meetings there, and the response from her guests continues to be terrific! If interested, call or visit the library.
