Republican Club

July 4, 2025, the 249th birthday of America—what better way to start celebrating our country’s birthday than by attending the annual Robson Ranch 4th of July parade? This year, the parade was the largest that it has been. It stretched from the clubhouse all the way up to Grandview near the main gate where it U-turned, went all the way back down to Crestview where it U-turned again by the CATC, and back to the clubhouse. The Robson Ranch Republican Club float was a hit for sure, with likenesses of some of our great Republican presidents: Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan, and, of course, Donald J. Trump who was still sporting his bandaged ear.

As the float progressed down the parade route, you could hear the cheers from the spectators. Past President Tim McCormick once again outdid himself with the soundtrack. The Float Committee this year consisted of David Blassingame and Tom Dollahite as co-chairs, Olive Morton, Heather Darby, Pat Langa, Tim McCormick, Webb Bliss, Jim TenBrook, Don Hicks, and Laurie Wiginton. John Romeo was the designer. We are very appreciative of John for his time and talent. The float was ridden by several members of the club. Following the float were numerous golf carts decorated in full patriotic colors and proudly displaying the Ranch Republican Club logo.

Our club is off to a fantastic start this year! Memberships are coming in, and our calendar is packed with exciting events. If you have not renewed your Republican Club dues or if you would like to join, you can do so through our website at www.rrrepublicanclub.com or contact Laurie Wiginton at laurie.wiginton@gmail.com or David Blassingame at davidblassingame@gmail.com.

On Sept. 3 Senator Tan Parker, the District 12 State Senator, will join us to share his insights on the recent and special sessions of the legislature. He’ll also give us a heads-up on the propositions that will be on the November ballot for us to vote on. Mark your calendars for Oct. 1 when Denton County Sheriff Tracy Murphree will speak on the law enforcement issues in North Texas. We’re also bringing back our beloved Bake America Great Again Auction after a break from last year’s event. In previous years, we raised over $500 for a local charity, and we’re hoping to do even better this year. On Nov. 5 we’ll have Larry Brock, Lieutenant Colonel (retired) USAF, who will share his experience flying A-10s in the USAF. We’ll have a special veterans recognition with a performance by the talented Silver Sisters. In November we’ll also be inviting the Marines from Toys for Tots to join us for a toy drive and a presentation of a check for the money raised during the Bake America Great Again Auction. It’s going to be a fall season filled with amazing events and programs, so don’t miss out!
