More than 300 Road Runners Travel Club members convened in the clubhouse on July 30 to socialize, learn about new trips, and get some education on how to travel. Brandt Travel provided some excellent tips on packing to make your life less stressful. They also gave a presentation on solo travel opportunities and awarded several prizes to our members.
Members of our club who traveled on our sponsored trips in 2025 presented their thoughts on the cruises they took. Dan Patrick started with a review of the Royal Princess Western Caribbean New Year’s Cruise. Carolann and Dave Boykin provided their impressions on our most popular cruise, our Winter Annual Cruise. Following was a discussion on the Viking Venice, Adriatic, and Greece tour. Our meeting closed with a presentation of a trip on the Viking Grand European adventure from Budapest to Amsterdam!
Finally, we announced several new adventures that Road Runners can take advantage of in 2026 and 2027:
May 21-26, 2026: Collette’s Spotlight on Washington, D.C. Visit the historical parts of our nation’s capital: Mount Vernon, Arlington National Cemetery, Old Town Alexandria, the Capitol, the Vietnam Memorial, and more. Includes hotel accommodation and eight meals.
June 22-30, 2026: Utah National Parks and Rockies. See Canyonlands, Zion, and Bryce National Park. Travel from Denver to Las Vegas with two days on the Rocky Mountaineer Train.
June 27-July 11, 2026: Iceland and Norway on Sky Princess. Round trip from Southampton, enjoy four ports in Norway and four in Iceland.
Aug. 17-29, 2026: Alaska (Land and Sea Tour). Travel from Anchorage to Whittier Cruise port by rail on a 5-day land tour, including Denali National Park. Then board Princess Cruises for a 7-night cruise to Vancouver through the Northwest Passage. This cruise sold out this year, so make your plans now!
Dec. 26-Jan. 2, 2026: New Year’s Cruise to the Western Caribbean on NCL. Travel from Galveston to Mexico, Honduras, and Belize on the NCL Viva.
Sept. 22-29, 2027: Paris and Normandy River Cruise. Join Road Runners on our 2027 annual river cruise on Viking. Round trip from Paris to the Normandy Beaches. It’s not too early to plan.
