Material Girls Provide Quilts for Hill Country Strong

Pat Henderson

It’s said a handmade quilt is like a warm hug. The RR Material Girls were honored to send 41 “warm hugs” to the Hill Country Quilt Guild in support of Quilts for Hill Country Strong. The guild collected quilts from across Texas and the U.S. for those impacted by the recent devastating floods in the Texas Hill Country. Coordinated by Material Girl Carol Hansen, we cleared out our existing inventory of completed quilts and quickly completed others in process to contribute to the guild’s efforts. Carol personally delivered the quilts to members of the Red River Quilt Guild of Wichita Falls as they traveled to the Hill Country collecting quilts along the way. It was our great pleasure to be part of this effort to assist those who lost loved ones or are facing the rebuilding of their lives.

The Robson Ranch Material Girls meet each Tuesday morning in the Bluebonnet Room of the CATC to complete charity quilts for donation to nursing homes, Bundles for Babies, soldier quilts, and to the Denton Quilt Guild. Our regular meetings are on Thursday for open sewing in the mornings and business meeting and program at 1 p.m.
