Mark your calendars! The Denton Public Library (DPL) will be providing two terrific programs in our Robson Ranch Library this fall. You really don’t want to miss them!

On Monday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to noon, Denton Public Library librarians will be in the Robson Ranch Library to sign up residents for DPL cards and to answer questions about using a digital device to download e-books, audiobooks, movies, and other materials available digitally from the Denton Public Library. Expiring library cards can also be renewed. Do you have questions about CloudLibrary or Hoopla? They will be able to answer them. To obtain a DPL card, you’ll need to show a photo ID (driver’s license, passport, state ID, etc.) and proof of residency (if your photo ID does not contain your current Denton address). For digital assistance, bring your device with you to the Robson Library for hands-on help. The DPL librarians will even assist in downloading the CloudLibrary app to your device.

On Friday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. to noon, the Denton Public Library Outreach librarian, Haley Phillips, and the South Branch Adult Services librarian, Makenna Madsourivong, will be in the Robson Ranch Library to offer a detailed presentation on the new and exciting DPL online resource PressReader. Through PressReader, DPL cardholders will have digital access to more than 7,000 current global and multilingual newspapers and magazines on their personal devices from home or anywhere else with Wi-Fi access. Imagine the possibilities! With no subscription fees, you’ll be able to read The New York Times, USA Today, and many other newspapers from the comfort of your own home. Good Housekeeping, Smithsonian, Us Weekly, and Car and Driver, among many other magazines, are available, too. This will be an in-depth presentation on what’s available on PressReader and how to access and navigate DPL’s new e-resource. Be sure to bring your cell phone, tablet, or laptop (with PressReader downloaded) to follow along more easily. You should also have your DPL card on hand.

The Robson Ranch Library, located in the CATC building, is open daily during CATC hours (6 a.m. to 10 p.m.). Volunteer staff is available to help patrons Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Note: You will need the free PDK phone app or $5 PDK card to enter and exit the library, available at the HOA office.)
