Material Girls enjoy field trips to museums or to quilt stores, then we lunch together after buying more material we don’t need but must possess.
Recently, we ventured to Carrollton for lunch at Babe’s and then to shop at a quilt store. Joining us was Dean Rose, son of Marguerite Rose. Marguerite was a Robson Pioneer and founder of RR Material Girls.
It was comforting to share a meal with Dean and his partner Scott. Memories of Marguerite filled the room. When asked if Dean would like to join us shopping, it was with fond memories that he said, “Absolutely not!” He remembered as a young boy that he had to go shopping with his mother and the trouble he got into playing with bolts of fabric.
Marguerite, we gave it one last shot to make a quilter out of Dean. Sorry!
