Valerie Roehrs, candidate for Denton County Commissioner, Precinct 4
Conservative Women of Action (CWA) welcomed the fall political season with a free luncheon on Sept. 15 featuring Valerie Roehrs, Republican candidate for Denton County Commissioner, Precinct 4.
Roehrs outlined the scope, duties, and responsibilities of a county commissioner, highlighting the region covered by Precinct 4. She reviewed the legacy of the current commissioner and emphasized the need for an active, engaged leader to address the area’s rapid growth. Key issues facing the commissioners include budget and property taxes, election integrity, contracts and salaries of county employees, as well as long-range planning for transportation, business development, emergency services, fire protection, and law enforcement.
A lifelong Texan, Roehrs is a wife, mother, rancher, and business owner from Argyle. Raised with conservative Christian values in Farmers Branch, she learned the importance of hard work growing up on her family’s ranch in Meridian. She holds a BBA in economics from the University of North Texas and an MBA from the University of Dallas. Her professional background includes more than 20 years in sales, marketing, and management in the telecommunications and broadcasting industries. She later stepped away from corporate life to focus on raising her daughters and helping her husband manage their family businesses and cattle operation.
