The phrase “better together” rang true throughout the 20th Annual WGA Member-Guest Tournament. The theme, Around the World in 18 Holes, was embraced by 148 players as they showed up for three fun-filled days of golf. Creative participants arrived in costumes representing 20 of the 195 countries around the world. An amazingly well-organized event, spearheaded by Mary Burke with help from her outstanding committee, culminated in a superbly prepared meal shared by many of the 54 sponsors. The staff of Robson Ranch really outdid themselves with dishes from around the world. Representatives of the sponsors’ businesses and golfers alike were entertained by a Russian belly dancer troupe and several young women who danced while balancing swords on top of their heads! Wow, real professionals dressed in beautiful costumes.

First through fourth place winners in six flights celebrated their wins, along with six ladies claiming closest-to-the-pin cash awards. Althea Parent and Connie Metzler accomplished the dream of getting a hole-in-one over the course of the three days. They no doubt left with a smile on their faces and the intention of returning for next year’s tournament. The RR WGA ladies who were lucky enough to be participants can’t wait to see what the 2026 Tournament Committee comes up with for us.
