Baby Boomer Bunco: The Calm Before the Storm … Literally

On Jan. 22, while the weather forecasters were dramatically waving their arms about the “big storm” heading our way, the Baby Boomers were busy doing what we do best—rolling dice, laughing loudly, and pretending we understood the scoring rules. Little did we know that, within hours, we’d be hunkering down with weather alerts. But that night, it was all sunshine, snacks, and serious Bunco business.

The clubhouse was buzzing as tables filled up and the dice started flying. We had enthusiastic players, fierce competitors, and at least a few who were just there for the snacks and social hour (no judgment—we see you).

And the winners were …

We had champions in all the classic categories: Most Buncos, Mini Buncos, Most Wins, and Most Losses (arguably the most impressive category).

Now, I would absolutely love to recognize each and every winner by name. Truly, however, in my defense, I left the very next morning for a cruise, and somewhere between packing, airport security, and shipboard desserts, my brain officially went on vacation before the rest of me did. So, if you won something that night, please stand up proudly, point to yourself, and accept our applause. You earned it.

Why we love Baby Boomer Bunco: This event just keeps getting bigger and more fun every time. It’s not just about the dice—it’s about reconnecting with friends, meeting new neighbors, sharing laughs, and enjoying a night out before Mother Nature decides to throw her own version of Bunco at North Texas.

If you missed it, don’t worry. There will be more chances to roll, laugh, and maybe even win (or lose spectacularly).

Take a look at the pictures and relive the fun. You might even spot a champion mid-victory dance or someone dramatically blaming the dice.

Until next time, keep those dice warm and your weather apps on standby.
