Women Sharing Hope February Program Hits the Ball Out of the Park with Rudy!

Linda Wagner

The message of redemption was heard by more than 170 people through some very special speakers.

Spencer Sale, due to painful childhood experiences, had distanced him from God, and when sentenced to prison, he eventually saw incarceration as part of God’s rescue plan. “I wouldn’t have a relationship with God without the dark times,” he said. “It’s better to walk through the valley with the Creator beside you.” It was in prison that he met Rudy Castro whose own transformation left a lasting impact and created a lifelong friendship.

Rudy was deeply involved in gang life, partly because of a need for safety and a need for a family. His family became drug addicts and imprisoned. His crossroads came after learning his mother was dying. He begged, “God, if You exist and heal my mom, I will surrender fully to serve You.” Today, 18 years later, his mom still lives, and Rudy kept his promise. While in prison, Rudy had a podcast reaching 800,000 inmates and earned a master’s degree in Christian education. He also served as a prison pastor.

The third speaker, Judy, Spencer’s mother, said she had witnessed many miracles in Spencer’s transformation from “worldly … to God-loving.” She herself learned that God sees the big picture, and we just have to trust.

Rudy was released from prison in December of 2025 and is working in construction. The full program video is available at WomensharingHope.net. Want program invitations? Email womensharinghopeclub.com.
