Richard Kushmaul
At the April 2 meeting, co-president Richard Kushmaul welcomed 30 members of the Robson Ranch Democratic Club and four candidates for the upcoming special and general election (early voting April 20 to 28 and election day, May 2). Precinct chair, Jane Scholz introduced the four candidates, each of which in a five minute pitch made their case for why they should be the candidate of choice. Those speaking were three mayoral candidates: Brian Beck, Angela Brewer, and Shannon Childs, and one City Council Candidate, George Ferrie. A Q&A session followed, with extensive opinions and proposed solutions expressed on the chronic homelessness situation in Denton County. There then followed a meeting break where RRDC members could visit individually with the candidates, get yard signs, campaign materials, etc.
Democratic precinct chair, Jane Scholz continued the meeting with a PowerPoint presentation on “How to be a Savvy Political Donor” where she described a process and resources for having the most impact with our political contributions.
