Have you ever wondered where your drinking water comes from—or how it stays safe, clean, and reliable year-round? The living well committee invites you to a fascinating and informative presentation on Denton’s water system and the journey your water takes before it reaches your tap.

Join us on Thursday, June 4, 1 p.m. in the Clubhouse, for a special session with Daniel Parish, water production superintendent for the City of Denton and manager of the Ray Roberts Water treatment plant. With 17 years of experience as a licensed “A” Operator in Texas, Mr. Parish brings deep expertise and a passion for helping residents understand the water they use every day.

During this engaging presentation, Mr. Parish will walk you through the water treatment process—from source to tap—using a detailed 3D model of the treatment facility to make the process easy to understand and visually engaging. He will also share insights into Denton’s water sources, including how the city ensures a dependable supply even during extended drought conditions.

You’ll learn about the quality and safety of Denton’s drinking water, including how it is tested and monitored. Mr. Parish will also address important and timely topics such as PFAS (commonly known as “forever chemicals”) and what recent testing reveals about their presence in local water systems.

In addition, he will explain what it means for Denton to be designated a “superior public water system” and how that distinction reflects the city’s commitment to excellence in water treatment, safety standards, and ongoing innovation.

Whether you’re curious about water quality, interested in environmental issues, or simply want to better understand an essential part of daily life, this presentation offers valuable and eye-opening insights. Please plan to join the living well committee on June 4 for this unique opportunity to learn more about one of our most important resources—our water.
