Group at Denton Water Treatment Plant

As a follow-up to the recent information session at Robson, 18 Rockin’ Red Ranchers gathered to tour the Denton Municipal Utilities Water Treatment Plant on Spencer Rd. Walking through each step of the process, the ladies learned the science of how our drinking water is sourced, cleaned and processed before it arrives at our faucets from Lake Lewisville and Lake Ray Roberts. They were impressed to discover that the plant has the capacity to treat up to 30 million gallons of water each day. A control center monitors the flow of water from the lake, through the treatment process via system stations that reboot water to the various pressure zones and water towers in Denton. The ladies enjoyed the tour and newfound knowledge and ended the outing with lunch at the Greenhouse Restaurant. The fun continued with a lively word game and hostesses, Joyce Ambre, Dorothy Edlund and Bonnie Juergens sent everyone home with a mini succulent—a thoughtful reminder of the importance of conserving one of our most precious resources: water.
