The RIC holds an annual fundraising event at the Willis Tower (formerly Sears tower) in Chicago, where runners run up 103 stories (2,113 steps), toughest stair climbing run in the U.S.A. Seventy-year old Marsha O’Loughlin entered the 2015 event and finished the climb in 34 minutes, 12 seconds on November 8, 2015. She is a member of the elite West Coast Label Texas Team.
After completing that run she and her team members entered the Cystic Fibrous stair climb event at a 58-story building one and a half hours after finishing the Willis Tower run. Marsha finished first place in her age group, in 16 minutes and 41 seconds. Marsha is currently ranked number one in the U.S.A. Amateur Stair Climbing runners in the over 70 age group.
