Our last luncheon of the year was held Monday, December 7, 2015 and featured the Dallas Dazzlers Dance Group. They performed several tap dance routines to different Christmas tunes. During their costume changes, Peggy Crandell read a script describing their holiday story. Their flashy costumes and energetic performances were loved by all.
A high point of the luncheon was the presentation of checks to Dana Bolin, the representative for Our Daily Bread, and Debbi Garrett, the representative for Cumberland Presbyterian Children’s Home. These two checks totaled $7,690.32 from the proceeds raised from our October Holiday Market.
President Teresa Blackburn-Korn thanked the Robson Ranch staff by giving them a token of our appreciation for all their help throughout the past year with our monthly luncheon meetings, board meetings, fundraiser events and other activities.
Teresa then called the new 2016 Executive Board to the stage for installation. They are Darla Mahan, president; Sharon Foy. president elect; Moe Fitzgerald, vice president membership; Joyce Frey, vice president programs, with Connie Wells co-chair; Joyce Ambre, secretary; Carol Cooley, treasurer; Joan Krause, luncheon coordinator; and Consie Javor, parliamentarian.
Our new president, Darla Mahan, then introduced her 2016 committee chairs. They are Diane Khalar, ways and means; Tanya Jones, publicity, with Susan Knopick co-chair; Bert Zeitlin, webmaster; Pat Knight, sunshine; Chris Melo, historian, with Janie Farnsworth co-chair; Judy Ondina, community relations; BJ Watson, welcome; Paula Monroe, service; Ruby Wilson, hospitality; and Peggy Crandell, special projects.
