There are a good number of motorcycle enthusiasts and owners at the Ranch, and it has been a while since there has been any organized group rides and activities. That is not unusual as bikers tend to be independent sorts, and there have been many individual and small group rides. Well we are again energizing the group. Our goal is to get to know each other, organize events and rides, share bike/accessory/dealer information and promote a positive presence at the Ranch. We are also interested in get togethers and dine outs because, you know, we don’t get to do enough of that here.
Our first ride was on February 28. Joseph Ace led us on a wandering path northward to Muenster, Texas stopping at the Rhomer’s Restaurant for some delicious German fare. After some good gab, fellowship and bragging, Mike Kowalski led a few of the group westward through Bowie, then Jacksboro, finally returning to the Ranch via Decatur. The weather was exceptional, scenery great and the riding fantastic. Riders included Joseph Ace, Larry Hampton, Larry Balich, Norm Zilinsky, John Nagy, Jim Olson, Mark Kuxhause and Stan Brein.
The group had a meet and greet at the Wildhorse Grill on February 17 with 13 members and some partners attending. Ideas for rides and activities were shared along with some tales of the road. This was followed with a ride on February 18 led by Stan Brein to Yesterday’s Diner in Bridgeport, a must see for enthusiasts of cars and the 50s.
We plan to have organized rides and activities about twice a month. If you are interested in participating, contact Stan Brein at [email protected].
