A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock ‘n’ Roll

On a crisp, cool Friday autumn evening, the Robson Ranch Dance Club hosted the Happy Fall, Y’all, dance at the RR clubhouse. Upon entering the clubhouse, our members and guests were met with a virtual pumpkin patch with colorful leaves and fall decorations on each table (as well as hard-to-resist chocolates—yum!). The setting was a fun and relaxing atmosphere for friends, neighbors, and guests, which led to an upbeat evening of familiar and popular dance music.

Our band for the evening, Smith the Band, was well prepared to play dance songs for 2-step, swing, rock ‘n’ roll, line dance, or individual choice. And our guests were ready to dance! They were “Here for the Party” with a “Drink in My Hand” and stomping it out to “God Blessed Texas.” Smith the Band played non-stop during each of their three sets, while our RR line dancers took over during the breaks and exuberantly filled the dance floor. During one break, our new RR board members for the upcoming year were approved. The board members for 2024 are Kathryn Bohling, Holly Skinner, Kathy Jacobs, and Shellie Williams. Since this was our last dance for 2023, mark your calendar for the next Dance Club event on Jan. 19, 2024.

As always, we are grateful to our sponsors for their generous donations of gift cards for our eagerly anticipated door prizes! A big thank you to Paige Maulding for her popular Stretch-n-Flex gift certificates and to David Ford for donating a window cleaning certificate. The RR Classic Rock Club kindly provided two tickets to the upcoming sold-out Desperado Concert. James Verfurth was very generous to provide two gift certificates for each of his restaurants: Shoal Creek Tavern, Lambeau’s America, and Verf’s Tavern and Grill in Bartonville. Thank you so much to all of our sponsors. We appreciate you! Congratulations to our lucky winners: Collins Miller, John Manzo, Sandy Olsson, Mary Ann Rich, Jay Parker, Sharon Brown, Steve Jacobs, Darrell Supak, Paul Gage, and Dave Gow.

Smith the Band closed out the evening with everyone on their feet and singing along to “Don’t Stop Believing,” by Journey. We left believing and knowing we had a great evening and wish everyone a Happy Fall, Y’all!
