Thanks to the many loyal blood donors and four new donors, Pilot Knob Rotary Club completed another successful blood drive. Carter BloodCare reported we collected 39 pints of whole blood on May 16, bringing the calendar year total collections to 148 units. Participating in blood drives is one of the best ways to ensure your neighbors, family and other patients have access to the lifesaving blood they need. Both Pilot Knob Rotary Club and Carter BloodCare appreciate the efforts of all those who donated. A big thank you also to the Carter BloodCare staff, Shelbi Berg, Linda Caron, the Robson Patrol and others with the Robson Ranch HOA.
Every whole blood donation has the potential to save three lives (red blood cells, platelets, plasma) and every double red donation can save two lives. America has the safest and most abundant blood supply in the world. That’s because of Americans who know every privilege has a corresponding responsibility, and every right has a corresponding duty. The practice of giving also aligns with altruistic behaviors that have been linked to better health outcomes and increased longevity. Rotarians understand completely.
The remaining blood drive dates for 2026 are September 12 and November 14. Mark your calendar now and look for HOA announcements as we get closer to the dates.
