Coming from an artistic family with lots of sisters, one of whom is her twin Brenda, Bev was destined to dabble in makeup and hair design. After graduating from Crooked Oak High in Oklahoma, Bev studied to be a cosmetologist. Her mother-in-law was the top hair colorist in the country at that time, so she became an excellent mentor. Bev entered state competitions for cosmetology and she won several awards. With five sisters giving her plenty of practice doing hair and make–up, it’s no wonder she was able to delight a number of brides with exquisite wedding coiffures.
Bev and her husband Tim enjoy a blended family with six children and eleven cherished grandchildren. Of this, they can deservedly boast. Bev has done portraits of some of these grandchildren and Tim, in turn has produced a large, lovely diamond art depiction of a darling young grandchild.
For ten years Tim and Bev pastored a small Full Gospel church in Moore, Oklahoma, which sadly closed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their children discovered Robson Ranch for them and felt it would be good to have their parents close. The couple retired here in June of 2025. Soon after, the artistic pair discovered a special smaller community in the Paint and Palette Club where they are frequently seen working on their individual artistic creations. Bev is currently working on a large acrylic painting for the next exhibit while Tim works quietly on his latest diamond art. Bev has painted in oils, watercolor and acrylics. She actually started painting when a friend invited her to join a class in China painting. She has exhibited her gorgeous China painting pieces at the Paint and Palette exhibits. At home, her soffit and bookshelves are adorned with her ‘animal’ China paintings which she truly enjoys painting. Bev also delights in portraying scenery, lighthouses and whimsical scenes. Although Bev says she does not enjoy painting roses, one can glimpse evidence that her hand-painted tea set and large slender vase are adorned with the most elegant of roses.
Yearly membership for the Paint and Palette Club is $10. Third Monday experiences are a class or workshop. Flash Fridays are often spontaneous and announced previous to the date. Room 103 in the CATC is open for members to work on personal projects on Mondays 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Fridays 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Visitors are welcome to drop in to observe real artists at work.
