A father lovingly asked his son, “What did you learn on your first day of school?” Solemnly and unexpectedly, his little boy replied, “Not enough. I have to go back tomorrow.”
Whether sadly or excitedly, whether they are beginning, continuing, or completing their formal education, from childhood to adulthood, children can be blessed by their parents’ words and deepest desires for them. As children begin another school year, may they know of the saving Grace of Jesus, and may they live their lives under the promises and blessings of our loving God.
Please join me in gazing at the children in our lives, whether in our mind’s eye or as they stand before us, as we declare these blessings over them, knowing that God’s Word never returns void.

Let us pray: Dear Father, as we speak your Words, in faith, over the children in our lives, we ask that your angels always protect them. Please light a fire for learning within them that their school year be enriching, exciting, and fun. Help them to be a blessing to their teachers and friends, in Jesus’ name we pray.
As they are sent off to school and experience many challenges as well as accomplishments throughout the year, know that Father God is faithful and that all of these promises belong to us, and we are all who God says we are. May you and the children you love have a blessed and fruitful school year.
