On Oct. 26 the Robson Ranch Bocce Club hosted a Volunteer Appreciation event on the Grill patio, recognizing the dedication of the many individuals who keep the club thriving. Board members, sottocapos, and commissioners gathered to enjoy the festivities on a perfect fall day. Attendees were treated to a spread of appetizers, burgers, and beverages while enjoying live music from Smokin’ Kountry.

The event was a heartfelt tribute to the club’s hardworking volunteers who play a crucial role in supporting its more than 1,600 members. As the club continues to grow, these volunteers ensure that operations run smoothly, and this celebration served as a token of gratitude for their efforts.

The excitement didn’t stop there. The Fall Bocce Playoffs brought competitive energy to Robson Ranch during the week of Nov. 18. Starting with 16 division-winning teams, the first day of matches narrowed the field to eight: Wise Guys, Great Balls, Sultans of Swing, Can Am Roll, Grab Your Balls, Robson Revengers, Arriva Bocce, and Boccismo.

The second day saw intense competition as the remaining teams battled for a place in the final four. Ultimately, Boccismo clinched the championship, with Sultans of Swing taking second place, Great Balls earning third, and Robson Revengers finishing fourth. The playoffs delivered thrilling action and concluded another successful fall season for the Bocce Club.

As the weather cools, the Bocce Club is gearing up for a new adventure: its first-ever Indoor Winter Bocce Season. Matches will move to the clubhouse ballroom where players can enjoy games without contending with heat, cold, blazing sun, darkness, wind, or uneven courts.

The indoor league, designed for fun and recreation, will relax many of the usual rules. There will be no commissioners, no playoffs, and teams will only need four players to compete. Current members can participate at no extra cost, while non-members must join the club to play. Those interested can email [email protected] for details.

The club created an innovative lightweight court system that will transform the ballroom into a bocce haven, with four courts accommodating up to 56 teams across seven divisions. Matches will primarily take place on Friday afternoons, with occasional games on Thursdays or Sundays. Each match will consist of three 25-minute games or 11 points.

With a new format and plenty of enthusiasm, the Indoor Winter Bocce Season promises to be another exciting chapter for the Robson Ranch Bocce Club.
