Paula Hemingway cried when she saw the blue line on the home pregnancy test. Wait, God, I thought I was done with five children, and now I’m going to have six?
What happens when life throws you a curve? What happens when your lifelong dreams remain unfulfilled?
Mark and Paula Hemingway have experienced many curves in their 49-year marriage with six kids and 22 grandchildren. Mark lost his job when their oldest child was in college, three were in Christian school, and they had a big mortgage payment every month. Their first two grandbabies lived only two months. Two of their children experienced cancer. Mark was the victim in the Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week in Albuquerque, N.M. Despite many setbacks, their faith in God through every circumstance demonstrates God’s goodness in their lives.
Join us for an inspiring, humorous, fun-filled story of life, love, and faith as Mark and Paula Hemingway share their incredible journey. Their challenges and trials of life have brought them many blessings and greater faith in God. They clearly see His hand in their lives because of their commitment to Him.
Be Inspired! And instead of being retired, look for ways you can be refired to make a difference. Even when your children are grown and your career has ended, God still has a plan for you. Mark, in his 70s, speaks globally three or four times a year throughout Southeast Asia. His audiences include university students, business leaders, healthcare professionals, and events hosted by U.S. Embassies and Consulates. Mark has written three inspirational nonfiction books that have been translated into Vietnamese and one into Khmer.
When Paula finished homeschooling her children, she decided to write inspirational stories of their family life and has been published 18 times in books, magazines, and devotional booklets. Paula’s childhood dream of playing the piano in church came true in her 60s. She is also music director for Women Sharing Hope.
