Two members of the Robson Ranch Duplicate Bridge Club recently achieved the rank of American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) Life Master. Ken and Consie Javor have been residents of Robson Ranch since October of 2013. Shortly after they moved to Robson Ranch, the Javors, who only played Party Bridge since college, began playing Duplicate Bridge and became members of ACBL. The climb from novice member to Life Master took a little over seven years. During that time, the Javors played bridge at Robson Ranch and other local bridge clubs and traveled to local, sectional, regional, and national tournaments, earning points and making lifelong friends along their journey.
On Aug. 19, the club honored the new Life Masters with a 12-table Swiss Game, presentation of the club’s Life Master trophy, beautifully decorated theme cakes, flowers, balloons, and happy hour at the Wildhorse Grill.
Robson Ranch Duplicate Bridge Club holds weekly ACBL-sanctioned games on Monday and Friday at 12:30 p.m., and on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the clubhouse. Members of the club range in skill from beginners to advanced players, and all bridge players are welcome. You do not need to be a member of the ACBL to play. No partner? No problem! Our director will work diligently to find a partner for you. If you would like to meet us socially, please join us at the Grill for happy hour around 4 p.m. on Fridays. Tawana Arnett directs the Monday and Friday games, and Norris Drum is our Wednesday night director. Club officers for 2022 are Shooter Summers, president; Lori Slocum, vice president; Sue Russell, treasurer; and Lynda Garrett, social chairman.
If you would like more information about our club, you can contact Director Tawana Arnett at [email protected].
