Capturing Christmas Decorations at Robson Ranch

Dennis Brooks, Vice President

The Drone Club meets the fourth Monday evening of each month from 7 to 8 p.m. in Room 104 at the Creative Arts and Technology Center. We have no dues, and attendance is open for any Robson resident who is interested in anything that is drone related, regardless of what they own or understand, but have a desire to learn more about. We encourage all attendees to join our free membership in Groups.io at groups.io/g/rrdroneclub and to visit our website, robsontech.club/a-day-in-the-life-of-a-robson-recreational-drone-pilot.

We did not have a meeting in December. We spent the month gathering drone photos of the Christmas decorations around Robson Ranch. Dennis Brooks flew several patterns at 400 feet over Robson Ranch. He identified areas of bright lights and lights lining the fairways. Steve Simpson and Dennis then went to the bright areas and captured over 200 photos and dozens of videos of some of the decorations here at Robson Denton. A selection has been presented to the Pioneer Press for a collage in the January issue.

At the end of our November meeting, there was a drawing for a DJI Mini Drone, which included a full list of accessories and was won by Scott Greenawalt. In 2024 a DJI Mini 2 Drone will be given away by the club in a spring drawing.

Our next meeting will be held on Monday, Jan. 22, starting at 7 p.m. in Room 104 at the Creative Arts and Technology Center, 9404 Ed Robson Blvd., where we will be showcasing Robson Ranch Christmas. We hope to see everyone then.
