The Sassy Stampers in attendance at the Sept. 17 meeting/class found their kit with supplies and instructions for this month’s card, “Joseph’s Coat,” presented to the group by Diana Krug. The technique looked a little intimidating until the table teachers put the fears to rest. At the end of class, there were many beautiful creations as everyone shared their masterpiece.
Many know the story “Joseph’s Coat of Many Colors.” This card had some of the same elements, using bright, vivid colors, and the assembly involved many techniques of card making learned in earlier classes. The many steps included color choice, coloring/sponging, stamping, embossing, and the last step, coating our creation with black ink, which magically brought out all the color choices and sponging that was done on the first step of the card. It felt like art day in school, which included finger painting. Not sure we all enjoyed getting messy like we did back in the day.
The monthly meeting was held to review any old business, new business, treasury reports, upcoming events, Support Our Troop update, the drawing for the Hobby Lobby gift card for those who brought cards to display in our window in the CATC, and the search for candidates for new board members for the upcoming year.
The next meeting/class will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15, at which time we will all gather again to join our collective talents to see the results of our creative minds. The friendship and fellowship we all experience at each meeting is just as beautiful as anything we make as a group.
Stop by our window in the CATC and admire the many talents in Robson Ranch. For any questions about the Sassy Stampers Club, contact Lisa Olson, club president, at [email protected] or 817-903-9894.
