Robson Ranch Catholic Club’s first meeting of the new year was held on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at 7 p.m. in the home of Dolores and Jack Kearney at 9824 Ironwood Drive. Over forty members were present to hear Dennis Pettit speak on “The Word…what it means and why it is special for Catholics.” Dennis’ discussion of Jesus Christ, The Word, was based upon his study of the Old and New Testaments as well as expert commentary on scripture by the Saints and Catholic theologians.
President Irene Manning opened the meeting with prayer requests, announcements, and new member introductions. Marion Napurano is collecting personal items to donate to the Red Cross for soldiers from Fort Bragg who were recently deployed on short notice. The Catholic Club continues to support Monsignor King Homeless Shelter with donations of clothing and paper products.
After the meeting, members enjoyed snacks and beverages. A lively football debate took place around the Packers football cake that member Kathy Sapp brought to the meeting!
