The Robson Ranch Catholic Community gathered on Oct. 11 in the Bluebonnet Room of the Creative Arts Building. There were 36 members in attendance. President Joan Bridges opened the meeting with a prayer. Joan then reminded everyone to please bring their donations for the homeless to our Nov. 8 meeting, or to drop those items off at Marge Lane’s home.
Marge Lane told all in attendance about our Prayer Request Book as the book was being passed around. Marge brings the book to the Robson Ranch Rosary groups, which meet on Mondays and Thursdays. Those groups pray the rosary for all requests. Anyone interested in joining either of these groups can contact Marge.
Our speaker was Deacon Ed Pasvar, and he gave a very detailed talk about the “Anointing of the Sick,” which is a sacrament administered by a priest. Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament given to those who are in immediate danger of death, those with serious illness, and those facing life-threatening surgeries.
Deacon Jim Galbraith requested prayer for all those in our community in need of God’s help during their illness.
On Nov. 8 we hosted Fr. Tim Thompson, pastor of All Saints Catholic Church in Fort Worth. Fr. Tim addressed “Dying with Dignity in the Catholic Faith.” This was an excellent topic for all.
A Christmas Celebration will be held on Friday, Dec. 16, at the Robson Ranch Grill, so please mark your calendars for this annual celebration. Please feel free to invite your friends, family, and neighbors. All are welcome!
