The Robson Ranch Cycle Club continues to grow, with more than 70 residents now on the club roster.

During August, the club hosted several rides each week, including the Friday morning “Ramble,” and additional rides both on and off the Ranch.

At the July club meeting members discussed cycling safety, especially when riding on the Ranch. Here are the top 10 tips:

1. Always wear a helmet.

2. Assume that cars, golf carts, and construction people do not see you.

3. Ride your bike in the right lane—the way you drive a car.

4. Watch for cars and golf carts backing out of driveways.

5. Use safety equipment (mirrors, lights, etc.)

6. If riding at dawn, dusk, or night, use lights. Be lit!

7. Make sure your bike and equipment are in good condition.

8. Ride with friends when possible.

9. Be careful when riding through water.

10. Be alert and pay attention! (“one ear open”)
