We were lucky to get to entertain many young men golfers from Division II schools on April 5 and 6. These players used the Black Tees and “boy howdy” could these young men drive the ball. The weather, as always, had a wind challenge, although as one coach said, “This is nothing compared to what we have in Lubbock.” The most impressive part of the tournament was; we had around 200 Robson Ranch volunteers who helped score and hand out refreshments to these young players.
Here is a copy of a note from Josh, the DBU Men’s coach.
First of all, I just wanted to say thank you. You guys have continued to just set the standard very high with how you conduct a golf tournament for these young men and women. The number of compliments I have received about the community, volunteers, and golf staff is incredible. You guys really know how to show true Texas hospitality to everyone that sets foot on the property. I am very appreciative of the time and effort that each of you, along with your staff and volunteers, put into making each of our events great. Coach Trapp always told me that if you do the little things right, everything else takes care of itself. I have always taken that to heart and I look for people that do the same. It’s the little things that each of you do that go a long way for these young men and women, and I am so thankful that you take the time to share your heart and your fantastic community with them.
I am looking forward to seeing each of you again here in a few weeks! We are thrilled to be heading back to Robson Ranch one more time this spring.
The school winners of the tournament were:
1. Oklahoma Christian University
2. Texas A&M Commerce
3. St. Mary’s San Antonio Texas
The overall winners were:
1. Ryan Dixon, St. Mary’s San Antonio Texas
2. Trevor Norby, Oklahoma Christian University
3. Brody Blackman, Texas A&M Commerce
We will be looking for volunteers for the May 2, 3, and 4 DBU Division II Regional Ladies Golf Tournament. Watch your HOA bulletins.
A big thank you to all the Robson Ranch volunteers and to the Robson Ranch Photo Club for the awesome pictures!
