The September Drone Club general session meeting was held on Sept. 22 in Room 104 of the Creative Arts and Technology Center (CATC) from 7 to 8 p.m., with questions until 8:30 p.m. Club Vice President Dennis Brooks presented “A Day of Flying Around Robson Ranch with Dennis Brooks.” The presentation covered all aspects, from equipment preparation to flight to post-flight storage.

We had two new Robson residents who are interested in getting into drone flying. The DJI Air 2S drone that was used to capture the images for the presentation was on display, with a DJI Smart Controller. There was a lot of interaction between attendees, especially Steve Garvin, technical assistant and future vice president. The question session after the presentation was extensive, especially about the Denton Airport Control Zone, which covers an increasing number of residents in North-Northeast Robson Ranch. Takeoff and flight in these areas requires a Low Altitude Notice (LAANC), even from your own yard. It was a very interactive session.

Drone Club meetings are open to all Robson Ranch residents.
