Denton Market Vendor: Bennetts Berries, Birds, and Bees

Carolyn Bennett, owner of Bennetts Berries, Birds, and Bees

Claudia J. Caporale

Aaron and Carolyn Bennett are a unique, Texas born and raised couple with a wide range of skills and experience, who love what they do and do it with passion and love.

With a background in electrical service and construction and after 10 successful years in the wholesale nursery business, Aaron’s green thumb in the Ag industry led him to a more fulfilling opportunity—providing something he saw as intrinsic value and sustainability—farm produce grown on a semi self-sustaining family farm. Between Aaron’s engineering mind and Carolyn’s enduring childhood passion to own a farm, her relentless determination to achieve her dream, her knack of organization, and source of energy, the Bennetts have accomplished their dreams and brought to life a family-owned produce farm and apiary located in the North Texas hill country of Sunset, Texas.

Through biodynamic and organic practices, the Bennetts maintain a diverse population of soil microbes that have a carbon-positive effect on the soil, providing a healthy, high-nutritional soil. The couple grows a diverse variety of veggies, including their most popular seller, their 8-lettuce blend. Aaron and Carolyn produce blackberries, figs, and other fruit and raise chickens, ducks, turkeys, and fresh eggs.

The Bennetts recently started a subscription service so that you can get “first dibs” on the freshest goods. They also provide a weekly menu from which you can choose and order, pick up, or have delivered.

Bennetts Berries, Birds, and Bees has a beautiful, comprehensive website: bennettsberriesbirdsandbees.com. Order individual items from their website or call 940-245-0261.
