… but the visitors to the Paint & Palette Art Reception on May 11 were certainly not doing the blues! There was a buzz in the air. People enjoyed visiting, meeting old and new friends, viewing the “blue” artwork, and sharing a cocktail.
The variety of “blue” art ranged from oil, watercolor, acrylic, to mixed media. We had blue guitars, a blue cat, a blue elephant, blue camels, a blue dog, blue oceans and mountains, blue sunsets, blue portraits, blue train tracks, blue pen and ink, blue abstracts, bluebirds, blue flowers, a blue painting with poetry, blue buildings, blue buckets, and the blue domes of Santorini. If you could think of something blue, the Paint & Palette group had created it! There was something for everyone to appreciate. Two of our artists, Ray Blanton and Jan Marx, collaborated on a mixed media portrait that was auctioned off.
The turnout was great, and the Paint & Palette Club looks forward to our next clubhouse exhibit Oct. 15 through Oct. 20. The Artist Reception is Oct. 17, so mark your calendar and watch for more information.
