After the play selection, auditions, and many rehearsals, the curtain came up on April 28 when the Robson Ranch Drama Club dazzled and entertained over 200 Robson Ranch residents, friends, and family members. The audience enthusiasm triggered the actors into high gear. Laughter was heard throughout the clubhouse.
The plays were all written by Bob Naquin. The first one was Driving Under the Influence, starring Teresa Bertl Korn and Tony Kura. Then Doctor, Doctor was performed with Don Taylor, Michelle Boscoe, Doug Akins, Belynda Figueriedo, Vicki Parr, Frankie Germany, and the voices of Tony Kura, Carl Boscoe, and Jerry Jenkins. After a 20-minute intermission, the next play was Get Your Flu Shot, played by Kathy Jacobs and Tony Kura. The curtain opened on the last play of the night, Lawyer, Lawyer, performed by Tom Gunther, Grace Jenkins, Ronda Gunther, Tammy Pickard, Julia Grier, Alan Stark, and Lisa Locke.
We could not have had a successful performance without the following people behind the scenes: Jeff Klotzman and Donna French were the sound technicians, Gail Kohn was in charge of lighting, Barb Cummins orchestrated the ticket sales, Doug Akins was the director, and Katherine Vess was our consultant on costumes and makeup. Our stage crew consisted of John Richards, Carl Boscoe, Jerry Jenkins, and Stephanie Miyake.
If you are interested in seeing what the Drama Club is all about, behind the scenes or on stage, please attend our meeting held the second Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. in Room 104 of the CATC building or write to President Mary Ornberg at [email protected].
