In June encounter nature, history and adventure during a UNT Travel Learn Trip to Alsace, France – May 31-June 5.

Alsace offers distinctive cultural, viticultural and gastronomic experiences developed through centuries of ping-pong domination between France and Germany. Today the unique historic blend provides the walking visitor with unsurpassed richness and diversity from fairy-tale landscapes including pastel-painted villages, Europe’s highest concentration of feudal castles to the distinctive Franco-Germanic cuisine and wines. We walk along part of the famous Alsace Wine Trail, visit a medieval fortress with spectacular views to the Black Forest in Germany, and trek along forest tracks near Obernai and the Vosges Mountains, wining and dining along the way with the finest produce this fascinating area has to offer.

Cornwall, England – June 7-13

With the crashing waves of the Cornish coast never far from sight, we follow in the footsteps of novelist Daphne du Maurier on the South West Coast Path, visiting ancient fishing villages, secluded beaches and sub-tropical gardens. We explore storm-weathered castles, eat in traditional thatched pubs and sail across peaceful estuaries. One of the Walk’s highlights is a trip to the mysterious Lost Gardens of Heligan, a once-neglected Victorian estate, now fully restored to its former glory. Another is the estuarial ravine garden of Trebah from where the US troops embarked for Omaha beach in the D-Day landings of 1944.
