Friends of the Library Plans “Boo! in the Books” Halloween Party

Chuck Tanner

Fall is (finally) in the air and that means Halloween can’t be far away!

The Friends of the Library (FOL) will host the 2026 Halloween party: Boo! in the Books! It will be a great event with all treats and no tricks—and it’s open to all Robson residents and their guests (kiddos too)! Join us for the fun and sweet treats at the Robson library, in the CATC Building, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29.

This year’s party will deliver plenty of fun holiday-themed activities, treats and surprises. Feel free to wear your favorite costume, whether that’s your own personal superhero or the Fairy Godmother you are with your grandkids! Residents and their guests do not need to be members of the FoL organization to attend. No costume? No problem! Come as you are and have fun while supporting the library.

Fun and sweet events will include a cakewalk, a spooky new scavenger hunt, a silent auction, and the pumpkin pitch (think Texas Toss with a Halloween spin.) Bring your phones or cameras and volunteers will capture plenty of photos to remember all the fun. Special backdrops will be available for the pictures. Guests will be entertained by a special DJ, spinning spooky tunes for the cakewalk!

Each event during Boo! in the Books will require one ticket to participate. Tickets will be pre-sold on Sept. 25 and Oct. 16 at the Robson Library, and also on Oct. 21 and Oct. 23, from 9 to 11 a.m., at the clubhouse. Presale tickets are $10 for a packet of 12. If you are not able to purchase in advance, they will be available at the door on the night of the party for $1 each.

You may join the Friends of the Library Club for $10 per year. To join, see any library volunteer or visit the website at www.rrtxfol.org. We look forward to scaring you there at the Boo! in the Books event!
