It’s been a year of faith, hope, and prayer for many—love lost, new friendships, new strength, and new perspective on life—a time to close this year with reflection, good memories, and continued faith in God.
No matter your situation, I hope you feel as blessed as I to have settled into a faith-loving, friendly, active community with a calendar full of clubs, events, exercises, Friday Vendors Market, blood pressure checks, morning walks, and monthly Living Well presentations, our last of the year being on Nov. 15 by Dr. Juanee Surprise who suggested, “read the labels” before you buy, and provided healthy options to holiday dinner—“You are what you eat.” But most importantly, control your stress level by making a list of everything you think you must, need, or want, and delegate!
If you attended our Turkey Trot, you were met by our Turkey Mascot with goodies for participants on Nov. 25, Thanksgiving Day—a great three-mile walk before consuming your big turkey dinner.
Thank you to HOA management for hosting a scrumptious hors d’oeuvres party on Nov. 1 for all its faculty members. The Wildhorse Grill is just another amenity pampering the lifestyle we all enjoy.
The Living Well Committee has great plans for 2022 with a presentation by Wally Sagui, licensed massage therapist and personal trainer, on Jan. 18, 2022, at 2 p.m. He will discuss “For the Health of It” and address exercises—how to maintain strength, mobility, and functional movement. On Feb. 16, 2022, at 2 p.m., we will have a presentation by James Purpura, CCM, meteorologist and director of weather forecasting. He’ll discuss weather patterns, winter weather awareness, home safety procedures, and so much more.
Our website rrlwc.com is up to date with current information, as well as photos and events of 2021. Keep up to date with our activities and events, and mark your calendars so you won’t miss one!
Thanksgiving is a time to reflect—a time of gratitude and a time to thank God for His many blessings. Happy Thanksgiving from all of us on the Living Well Committee. Be safe, and we’ll see you all in the new year.
