Happy Tails Dog Club held its annual Holiday Pet Photos on Nov. 8, bringing together 28 dog owners for a smooth and enjoyable day. Volunteers Janet Pauley, Lorraine Handel, and Lorraine Wilson greeted participants at check-in. Once inside the “studio,” Teresa McGill helped each owner and dog get settled while Santa, played by past resident Paul Vivaldi, patiently posed with the dogs during the morning photo sessions. Photographer Donna Steibel, now in her fifth year as the club photographer, once again delivered the warm, expressive photos that members look forward to each holiday season.
Later that day, four members of the Happy Tails Dog Club had a wonderful evening at the Ranch Hands Rescue/Bob’s House of Hope Gala. A heartfelt thank you goes to Drew and Emily Wilson from PEMF Recovery Plus for generously donating an entire table for the club—what an incredible gift! Though we wish more members could have joined in, those who attended (Melissa Crabill, Teresa and Steve McGill, and Lorraine Wilson) enjoyed a lively night filled with music, great food, and warm camaraderie. Together, they proudly raised $1,000 to support this inspiring local charity and the life-changing work it does in our community.
The annual Holiday Party was on Dec. 6 at a member’s home. Always a highlight of the year, the gathering included good food, plenty of laughter, and the traditional “white dog” gift exchange, which brought out some friendly competition and fun.
Happy Tails is also finalizing an engaging schedule of speakers for 2026. The Jan. 10 meeting will feature Canine Dimensions In-Home Dog Training, whose representatives will share the benefits of positive, in-home training methods. Founded by nationally known dog behavior expert Phil Guida, the organization is nationally recognized for its work in obedience training, puppy development, and behavioral rehabilitation.
On Feb. 7 the club will take part in the annual Club Open House at the clubhouse, giving Robson Ranch residents a chance to learn more about Happy Tails and many other groups active in the community. Board members and volunteers will staff the table throughout the event to welcome visitors and answer questions.
The next week, at our regular monthly meeting on Feb. 14, the club will host Karin and Roberto Saucedo from Song Dog Watch. Karin, a Dallas native and published wildlife conservation photographer, brings a wealth of experience in animal rescue, behavior study, and advocacy. She works with several wildlife organizations, and her husband Roberto shares her passion for wildlife and has spent the last seven years documenting coyote behavior throughout North Texas using photography and camera traps. Together, the Saucedos offer a unique and informed perspective on how residents can safely and respectfully coexist with native wildlife.
Happy Tails Dog Club meets on the second Saturday of each month at 10:30 a.m. in the CATC building. All residents are welcome to join. Annual dues are $10 per household, and more information can be found at www.rrhappytailsdogclub.weebly.com.
